Half Stop

Privacy policy

Your recipes stay on your iPhone

Effective 30 September 2026

In short: Half Stop has no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking. The developer doesn't collect, receive or sell any of your data. What you save lives on your iPhone, and in your own iCloud if you turn on iCloud sync.

What stays on your device

Recipes, their cover images, notes, collections, the photos you add to recipes, camera backups and settings are stored on your iPhone. Half Stop and its share extension share them through an app group on the same device.

iCloud sync

If you have Half Stop Pro and turn on iCloud sync, your library is stored in your private iCloud database through Apple's CloudKit, so it appears on your other devices signed in to the same Apple Account. That data is covered by Apple's privacy policy; the developer can't see it.

Saving from Instagram

When you share an Instagram post or paste a link, Half Stop requests that post's public embed page directly from your iPhone to read its caption, creator and images. Instagram (Meta) receives that request as it would from a browser, under Instagram's privacy policy. Nothing passes through a server of ours. Half Stop keeps the recipe settings, the caption, the creator's name, a link to the post and a cover image, on your device.

Screenshots you share or pick are read on your iPhone with Apple's text recognition; they aren't uploaded.

Your camera

Sending recipes, reading your camera's slots and camera backups happen over the USB-C cable between your iPhone and your camera. Nothing about your camera is sent anywhere else.

Photos

Half Stop only sees the photos you choose to add or match, and only saves images to your photo library when you ask it to (for example, a recipe card you share).

Purchases

Half Stop Pro is bought through the App Store. Apple handles payment; the developer receives no payment or personal details, only whether a subscription is active on your device.

Apple's analytics

If you've chosen to share analytics with app developers in your iPhone's settings, Apple may provide the developer with aggregated, anonymous statistics such as crash reports and usage counts. You can change this in Settings › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements.

This website

This website has no cookies, ads or cross-site tracking. Its fonts and images are served from this site. It's hosted by Cloudflare, which keeps standard server logs, such as IP addresses, for security. The site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits and see which sites people came from: it uses no cookies, doesn't follow you across sites, and shows the developer only totals, never who you are. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.

This website's email list

If you join the launch list on this website, your email address is kept by MailerLite, the service that sends the list, and used only to tell you when Half Stop launches and about the founder price. It isn't shared or sold, and every email has an unsubscribe link. To be removed sooner, email the address below.

Children

Half Stop isn't directed at children under 13 and doesn't knowingly collect data from anyone.

Deleting your data

Delete recipes in the app, or delete the app to remove everything on your iPhone. iCloud data can be removed in Settings › [your name] › iCloud › Manage Account Storage.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new effective date.
